Magic with the ladies

Young actor Colin Firth looks like being the next TV heart-throb. But he's not too happy about it.

Colin, a 26-year-old bachelor, plays a bashful Yorkshire lad in the new drama serial LOST EMPIRES. His character, Richard Hernshaw [sic], faces many female temptations in his job working in his uncle's music-hall magic act.

First he falls in love with lovely singer Nancy Ellis (Beatie Edney). Then he is seduced by the older Julie Blane (Carmen du Sautoy).

Colin says: "Richard is popular with the ladies.

But I don't know what a heart-throb is. I've never met one and I don't know how they behave."
